Dark Chocolate Ganache

Quick and simple with few ingredients, so many uses. This is a staple recipe for baking, especially cake decorating. Cane be used on cakes, cupcakes, donuts, and more. Just pour it over the top in place of ice, or over icing even if you wanted to. Heck, pour it over a cake iced in whipped cream instead. This can be used to keep the dish decadent without all the sugar that comes with the American buttercream frosting.

Dark Chocolate Ganache

Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups heavy cream
1 1/2 cups chopped dark chocolate
1 tsp vanilla

Preparation:

Heat cream in a sauce pot over medium heat. Once heated pour over the dark chocolate and stir until all the chocolate is melted. Add vanilla, stir, chill.

To use as a cake filling increase the chocolate to 2 cups and let it cool completely. Otherwise this makes a wonderful glaze to pour over a cake, or dip donuts in.
