I saw a
recipe for brownies that started a craving for brownies. Well... This is
what I came up with. Have to note I accidentally left these in the oven
for 50 minutes due to distractions, and they didn't burn. This was my first brownie recipe, it turned out great despite accidentally leaving them in the oven too long. It was after this that I decided an egg-less recipe was necessary.
Yield: 1 9x13 tray
Ingredients:
2/3 cup plain, unsweetened apple sauce
1 cup coconut sugar
1/4 cup water
2 cups chopped dark chocolate
2 cups mini chocolate chips
4 eggs
1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
In a sauce pan heat up coconut sugar, apple sauce, and water. Once sugar is dissolved add 2 cups chopped dark chocolate and continue to heat until melted.
Lightly beat eggs, and combine with dry ingredients in a bowl. slowly pour in chocolate mixture slowly so the eggs don't cook as you are mixing the batter.
Pour the batter into a greased 9x13 pan and bake for 25 to 30 minutes.
